Heather Madar

My particular focus as an art historian is on 16th century German art, and more broadly on art of the Northern Renaissance. I teach classes on Medieval Art, Italian and Northern Renaissance Art, Baroque Art and 18th century Art. My scholarly interests center around prints and print culture in 16th century Germany; art and political ideology; cross-cultural interactions in the Renaissance between Western Europe and the Muslim world and their reflection in visual art.  I am currently editing a book titled Prints as Agents of Global Exchange1500-1800, which examines the global dissemination of European prints in the early modern period.
